FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need counseling?

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than a quarter of American adults experience depression, anxiety or another mental disorder in any given year. Others need help coping with a serious illness, relationship troubles, job loss, the death of a loved one, stress, substance abuse or other issues.  Through counseling, therapists can help people live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.

Will you tell me what to do?

Counseling is a collaborative process based on the relationship between an individual and a therapist. It provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. You and your therapist will work together to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best.

What is a session like?

The first session is for us to get to know one another and determine if it is a good fit. I acknowledge my limitations and would gladly assist you in finding another therapist. Otherwise, we would spend time discussing your concerns, establishing therapeutic goals, and working toward them. Sessions typically occur on a weekly basis, and last about 50 minutes.

Can I afford it?

  • Individual therapy  $125/session

  • Family Therapy  $175/session

  • Cases w/legal involvement $200/session

A reduced rate may be available based on individual circumstances.

How do I pay?

Yes. We are in network with Aetna, ComPsych, Workplace Options, Cigna, and LifeWorks insurance companies. We will be happy to provide a receipt if you desire reimbursement for out of network benefits with other carriers. We also accept payments from HSA/FSA and all major credit cards.
